Delaware River Report: August 19, 2023

The river flows have dropped quite a bit but remain high. Floating is not a problem but the only wading opportunities will be near the dams above most of the feeder streams. The West Branch at Hale Eddy is 2,000 cfs and dropping slowly. It is still off color but definitely looks good for streamer fishing from a boat. There was some mud coming in Farm Pool yesterday above Oquaga but that should be clear and hat stretch looks fine for wading. That area is your best shot for small sulphur and olive dry fly fishing today.

Today will be 74 degrees with a mic of sun and clouds. Wind will be 10 – 15 mph from the North.
