Delaware River Report: August 25, 2025

The release from Cannonsville is 698 cfs. Last nights rain was negligible and the runoff will be noticeable on the river. The West Branch remains at a good level for wading and floating. Olives are still making up the bulk of the dry flies but Isonychias and Cahills are bringing a lot of fish to the net. Some of the fish eating olives will eat the bigger bugs but they’ve also worked well blindcasted in the riffles. Nymphing or swinging wets are good bets but stick to the mid to lower West Branch for that. The increased released probably broke the algae loose in Deposit and it’ll take a day to settle. If they leave or drop the release tonight or tomorrow.

Today will be 74 degrees with some light rain this morning giving way to periods of sun in the afternoon. Winds will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.
