Delaware River Report: August 26, 2025

The release from Cannonsville is 687 cfs. Some of the runoff pushed through yesterday mid morning and the West Branch came up a bit with some color. That cleared up by late afternoon and we’re back to normal this morning. Olives, Isonychias, and Cahills are still making up the bulk of the bugs. There are some Tricos around too. Nymphing or swinging wets are the best bets when the sun is hitting the water but blind casting the riffles has also paid off. The cooler night time temps are beginning to help the other rivers but the lower East Branch and Beaverkill temps are still peaking over 70 degrees.

Today will be 70 degrees with sun and clouds mixed. There is a slight chance of an afternoon shower. Winds will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.
