Delaware River Report: August 27, 2024

Yesterday’s afternoon shower or thunderstorm never materialized. We had bright sun with just a few clouds. Nymphing was definitely the best bet until the sun dropped in the evening. Isonychias, olives, a few Heptagenia, and a few cahills are making up most of the hatches. Flying ants are definitely around but a bit unpredictable. Today will look a lot like yesterday with bright sun once the fog burns off. It should fish the same.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville all peaked over 70 degrees yesterday. It’s time to give these rivers a break again.

Today will be 85 degrees with heavy fog in the morning and then sunshine. Wind will be light and variable.
