Delaware River Report: August 27, 2025

The release from Cannonsville is 797 cfs. It looks like the extra water is to keep the minimum flow at 1,750 cfs at Montague, NJ. The extra cold water release and the cool nights should help the water temps on the Upper Mainstem. We had a brief shower yesterday afternoon but not enough to bump the flows. Today looks like a good day to be on the water. It’s cool with decent cloud cover. Small olives, Cahills, and Isonychias are making up the bulk of the hatches. There are some Tricos and some river sections should see some white flies soon. We’re nymphing or swinging wet early and finding fish on top in the late afternoon / evening in to dark.

Today will be 68 degrees with considerable cloudiness. There is a slight chance of an afternoon shower. Winds will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.
