Delaware River Report: August 29, 2024

Today we start to cool back down with a high of 73 degrees. We may see a stray shower but the steady showers should hold off until after dark. The cloud cover is a bonus again but nymphing and wets will still be the best options early. If we do a shower there is a shot of some olives being pushed early. Blind casting Isonychias in the riffles is still a good option if you want to fish dries. We’ve been seeing more olives as the sun drops in the evening. Plus there is always a shot at flying ants this time of year.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville all peaked over 70 degrees yesterday. It’s time to give these rivers a break again.

Today will be 73 degrees with mostly cloudy skies. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. Wind will be light and variable.
