Delaware River Report: August 29, 2025

The release from Cannonsville is 761 cfs. The release was most likely bumped up to meet the 1,750 cfs flow target at Montague, NJ. The West Branch is still at a good level for floating and wading. The cooler nights and cloudy days have helped the water temps throughout the system. the bugs are picking up in the afternoons with olives, some Cahills, Isonychias, and a few Heptagenia hebe. Nymphing or swinging wets are still the best bets during the day but the bugs may come earlier with the weather – especially if we get a light rain shower.

Today will be 64 degrees with cloudy skies this morning turning partly cloudy in the afternoon. There is a chance of rain overnight. Winds will be 10 – 15 mph from the North.
