We had some rain overnight but so far the rivers look fine. The flows bumped slightly but it shouldn’t be noticeable. Oquaga Creek is only 19 cfs so the feeders are in good shape too. We have decent cloud cover and it definitely looks like a blue wing olive day. We should see a few Isonychias in the afternoon too. Blind casting worked well yesterday evening in the riffles. We have seen some cahills after dark this week so hopefully the weather pushes them a little earlier. As per normal this time of year nymphing or swinging wets will be the best bets early.
The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville all peaked close to 70 degrees yesterday. It’s time to give these rivers a break again.
Today will be 68 degrees with mostly cloudy skies. We may see a stray shower. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.
