Delaware River Report: August 5, 2025

The release from Cannonsville is back down to 500 cfs. That’s been the normal release fro most of the Summer and works well for floating and wading. Today’s weather will be very similar to yesterday with less wind. So stay on the normal Summer program. Midday Sulphurs and olives on the Upper West Branch and Upper East Branch. If the hatches come on the lower West they will be in the evening. Olives, Isonychias, and a few Cahills. Nymphing has been better on the lower West due to the Algae in Deposit.

The Beaverkill, Lower East Branch, and Mainstem water temps are still peaking in the mid to high 70’s. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.

Today will be 84 degrees and sunny. There may some smoke in the air reducing visibility Wind will be light and variable.
