Delaware River Report: August 6, 2025

The release from Cannonsville is 500 cfs. We’re going to a bit cooler today with cloud cover but the best shot at daytime dry fly fishing will still be in the coldest water on the Upper West and Upper East. It’s mostly been sulphurs and small olives with the occasional Isonychia and Cahill. The lower West may some some Isonychias, Cahills, and olives towards dark but it’s mostly been nymphing and wets. Streamer have been okay before the sun hits the water.

The Beaverkill, Lower East Branch, and Mainstem water temps are still peaking in the mid to high 70’s. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.

Today will be 79 degrees and cloudy. There may some smoke in the air reducing visibility Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.
