The release from Cannonsville is 500 cfs. We had a very brief but heavy rain shower yesterday afternoon but the river flows didn’t budge and the rain was absorbed in to the ground. Today looks like a repeat of yesterday. We’ll have sun and light wind. The Upper West Branch was mostly small olives yesterday with a few sulphurs. There is algae so if you want to nymph stay on the lower West. We’ve also had some hatchng towards dark on the lower West. Mainly olives with some Isonychias and a few Cahills mixed in.
The Beaverkill, Lower East Branch, and Mainstem water temps are still peaking in the mid to high 70’s. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.
Today will be 81 degrees and partly cloudy. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.
