Delaware River Report: August 9, 2025

The release from Cannonsville is 500 cfs. We’re in typical mud August conditions. We’ll have sun today with no wind. The Upper West has had tiny olives with some Sulphurs midday. The lower West has had olives and some Isonychias and Cahills towards evening. Blind casting bigger flies or nymphing have been the best bets during the day. We have seen some spinners mixed with the duns during the hatch so double check what the fish are eating if you’re getting refusals.

The Beaverkill, Lower East Branch, and Mainstem water temps are still peaking in the mid to high 70’s. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.

Today will be 82 degrees and sunny. Wind will be light and variable.
