We woke up to a cool morning and something between a heavy mist and light rain falling. Not enough to change the river flows. The runoff is subsiding so the rivers are a little bit lower today than yesterday. It’s cool outside this morning and the air temp should only reach the low 70’s today. We’ll see a partly cloudy which usually means mostly sunshine. Wind should be 5 – 10 mph from the North. We’re still mainly fishing sulphurs, isonychias, and olives. It’s getting close to the time of year to keep the flying ants in your box. Especially when we warm back up in a few days.
Water temps are hot on the Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, the East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and the Mainstem at Lordville. Give the fish a break in those areas and fish colder water.
