Delaware River Report / Conditions August 11, 2019

There were the normal sulphur and olive hatches on the upper river yesterday but the wind wasn’t helpful.   The lower West had some evening activity with sulphurs and olives too.  Nymphing or swinging wets was the the way to go early.  Isonychias are always a good bet this time of year.  The water levels are about the same as yesterday morning and the water temps have dropped back a couple of degrees due to yesterday’s cloud cover and the cool night time air temps.  The air temp will hit the high 70’s today and we will have mostly sunshine.  Wind 5 – 10 mph from the North.

Water temps are hot on the Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, the East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and the Mainstem at Lordville.  Give the fish a break in those areas and fish colder water.
