Delaware River Report / Conditions July 7, 2021

The West Branch at Hale Eddy is 715 cfs and falling this morning.  We had a couple isolated storms late yesterday and again overnight that added some runoff to the rivers.  The West Branch color is fine.  Today sounds quite a bit like yesterday.  We’ll start off with some clouds, hit 88 degrees, and have a chance of some afternoon thunderstorms. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.  All of these storms have been isolated so it’s tough to really tell if we’ll get hit. The rain has been pushing the olive hatches.  Sulphurs, cahills, and isonychias are around in decent numbers too.  There is some fog this morning but that won’t be a problem once the wind picks up.The Lower East Branch, Mainstem, and Beaverkill at Cooks Falls are all starting off over 70 degrees today.   It’s time to give those rivers a break and fish cold water areas.
