The release from Cannonsville was increased by 30 cfs. Not enough to change anything on the river today as far as fishing but every drop of cold water helps. The air temp will be close to 90 today with wind 10 – 15 mph from the South. We’ll have a good amount of sunshine. The best shot at daytime dry fly action will be in the areas with the colder water. Yesterday seemed to be spotty but fished well overall. Patience seemed to pay off. Most of the fish came on isonychia emergers and sulphurs. Nymphing worked well early.
The Lower East Branch, Mainstem, and Beaverkill at Cooks Falls all peaked over 70 degrees yesterday. It’s time to give those rivers a break and fish cold water areas.
