Delaware River Report / Conditions June 28, 2019

The release from Cannonsville has been dropped to 741  cfs opening up even more wade opportunities on the West Branch.  The level is still good for floating so we’re getting lose to having the best of both worlds.  We had bright sun yesterday but there were enough bugs to get some fish looking up early.  The sulphurs and cahills hatched in the early evening with the sulphurs making up the bulk of the food.  We’re in for another bright, hot day so find the shade.  Nymphing and swinging wets should produce early.  We’re also in the great part of the season when blind casting isonychias in the riffles can really pay off.  The air temp will cool down a little as some thunderstorms move through.  We should only see 1/4″ of rain so things are looking good for the weekend.
