Delaware River Report / Conditions June 7, 2017

The flows on the West Branch and East Branch seem to have leveled out.  The rain stopped and the sun is shining this morning se we should begin to drop.  The Beaverkill flow has dropped back the most overnight and should settle down in the next couple of days if the rain holds off.  Some of the tributaries should be fishable today and tomorrow if you move up into the headwaters.  Wading is not an option on the big rivers but if you are confident behind the oars the West Branch is okay to float at this level.  It’s mostly going to be a streamer game where you have to hit them on the head.  Visibility has definitely improved on the West Branch but there is still color.  That should continue to improve today as the runoff decreases and we end up with more reservoir spill in the river.  The current release from Cannonsville Reservoir is 323 cfs and the spill is 2,477 cfs.
