Delaware River Report / Conditions September 19, 2020

There is a good frost out there this morning.  By the afternoon we’ll heat up to 59 degrees with good sunshine.  Wind will be 6 from the North.  Not a bad day to be on the water at all.  The wind was not kind yesterday and lots of small olives were being blown all over the place.  It did settle down a bit in the evening.  Today looks so much better.  Keep an eye out for tiny olives, heptagenia, isonychias, and caddis.  The release from Cannonsville has been increased to just under 500 cfs. Most likely to meet downstream flow targets.

We’re beginning to see a bit of cloudiness in the West Branch from the release.  It’s slight right now and doesn’t bother the fish.  The cloudiness will increase if they raise the release.  It happens every Fall when the reservoir begins to turn over.
