Delaware River Report / Conditions September 20, 2018

The release from Cannonsville has been decreased to 1,097 cfs.  The runoff is still subsiding leaving the flow at Hale Eddy 1,700 and falling slowly this morning.  The lower water should help the fishing by concentrating the bugs on the water a bit more – especially the little olives that have been hatching.  The rivers are starting off a few degrees cooler this morning after last night’s air temps in the 50’s.  We’re still seeing isonychias and some cahills but mostly small olives and small olive spinners in the evening.  Nymphing and wet fly fishing should become more effective as the water drops.  Wunderground is calling for 1/4″ of rain tomorrow but otherwise we’re in for a few days of sun and clouds.
