The release from Cannonsville is back to 500 cfs. We have a mix of sun and clouds this morning. So back to normal with nymphing or swinging wets being the best bets early. The best dry fly fishing will again be closest to the dams with midday sulphurs and olives. The cloud cover should pick up after lunch with a chance of thunderstorms. Hopefully that will push the Isonychias, olives, and cahills on the mid to lower West Branch. The best chance of precip is around dark with Wunderground calling for .6″ overnight. Overall we’ve been dry so a lot of that should soak into the ground.
Today will be 88 degrees with sunshine and a few clouds this morning. The cloud cover should pick up in the afternoon with a chance of thunderstorms. Wind will be 10 – 15 mph from the South.
The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, the East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and the Mainstem water temps are all starting over 70 degrees this morning. It’s time to give these rivers a break.
