Delaware River Report: July 13, 2024

The clouds stuck around most of yesterday with the sun poking through occasionally. We’re in the normal West Branch Summer program with midday sulphurs, olives, and a few Isonychias close to the dams and evening olives, cahills, and Isonychias on the mid to lower West Branch. Nymphing or swinging wets will be the best bets early in the day and on the lower sections until the sun drops. Today will be sunny and hot again so finding the river sections that get shade early could pay off.

Today will be 87 degrees with sun and clouds mixed. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, the East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and the Mainstem water temps are all too hot to fish this morning. It’s time to give these rivers a break.
