We should have decent cloud cover today. The best daytime hatching is still going to in the coldest water. We may see some bugs on the lower West if we get a nice steady rain shower. Sulphurs, Isonychias, and Cahills are making up most of the hatch. There are some tan caddis around too. The West is at a good level for floating and wading and the Upper East is at a good wade level. Keep an eye on the radar. We shouldn’t see much rain but there is a possibility of some afternoon thunderstorms.
The Beaverkill, Lower East Branch, and Mainstem water temps are all peaked in the mid to high 70’s yesterday. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.
Today will be 88 degrees with clouds in the morning and some showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.
