Delaware River Report: July 18, 2024

We finally got some rain last night. Most of it soaked in the ground but the flow at Hale Eddy is 600 cfs. So we’re in good shape and we should see that drop back to normal this afternoon. Stilesville remains a steady 500 cfs. The air temp will be much cooler today but the best bet for daytime activity will be the midday sulphur and olive hatches close to the dams. Nymphing will be better on the mid to lower West. There should be some Isonychias and Cahills in the mix too.

Today will be 79 degrees with sunshine and clouds mixed. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, the East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and the Mainstem water temps are all too hot to fish this morning. It’s time to give these rivers a break.
