Delaware River Report: July 19, 2024

The flows are back to normal with a 500 cfs release from Cannonsville. Today is going to look a lot like yesterday with fewer clouds. The fishing hasn’t changed much with midday sulphurs and olives in the coldest water sections. There may be some Isonychas and cahills mixed in. The mid to lower West is better for nymphing, swing ing wets, or blind casting Isonychias in the riffles. Once the sun drops we may see some olives, cahills, and Isonychias hatching. We have thick fog at 6:30 this morning but that should burn off in the next hour.

Today will be 79 degrees with mostly sunshine. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, the East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and the Mainstem water temps are all too hot to fish this morning. It’s time to give these rivers a break.
