Delaware River Report: July 19, 2025

Last night was cool for a change and the water temps are starting off a couple of degrees colder than yesterday morning. We have some fog on the river but that should burn off quickly. It’s going to be sunny again so look for areas that get shade earlier in the afternoon. It’s normal Summer fishing so the best hatching will still be in the coldest water. The Upper West and Upper East are the two best bets during the day. Midday sulphurs are on mixed with some olives, Isonychias, and Cahills. There are a few tan caddis around as a bonus. The lower West is in great shape for nymphing or blind casting bigger flies through the riffles.

The Beaverkill, Lower East Branch, and Mainstem water temps are all peaked in the mid to high 70’s yesterday. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.

Today will be 81 degrees with clouds early and partly cloudy. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.

It’s that time of year. August 15 – 16. Let’s clean up the river!
