Delaware River Report: July 23, 2024

We’ve been hit by rain showers off and on since 5:30 last night. It ended up being more than Wunderground predicted and the river flows are up this morning. The West Branch at Stilesville only bumped 25 cfs so that’s going to be the best option for wading and any dry fly action. Oquaga Creek is adding just over 200 cfs and Hale Eddy is 951 cfs at 6:30 am. Click on the river gauge links below for the most up to date flows. The feeder creeks will add color to the river. The rain showers should taper off this morning. This looks like one of the few high water / color streamer days we’ve had this Summer.

Today will be 80 degrees and cloudy with morning rain. Total rainfall this morning should be .03″. Wind will be light and variable.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, the East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and the Mainstem water temps are all too hot to fish this morning. It’s time to give these rivers a break.
