Delaware River Report: July 24, 2024

The Upper West Branch in Stilesville has settled back to 502 cfs. The flow at Hale Eddy is 822 cfs and we do have color in the lower West Branch. The flow is dropping and we should clear a bit throughout the day as long as we don’t get any additional rain. The morning rain showers shouldn’t amount to much precipitation but keep an eye on the radar for the afternoon thunderstorms. Hopefully they slide around us. The midday sulphurs and olives should hatch as normal on the Upper West. The lower West looks really good for streamer fishing this morning. Nymphing could be a decent option as the flow drops and clears.

Today will be 78 degrees with a few showers this morning and a few potential thunderstorms in the afternoon. Total rainfall this morning should be .17″. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, the East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and the Mainstem water temps are all too hot to fish this morning. It’s time to give these rivers a break.
