The release from Cannonsville has been increased to 750 cfs. The increase was most likely done to keep the water temp at Lordville from exceeding 75 degrees as we head into to a few days of warmer air temps. It’s still a decent level or floating and wading in most spots. The fishing should remain unaffected with midday sulphurs and olives in the coldest water sections of the Upper West and Upper East Branches. That will be the best dry fly fishing. It shouldn’t be enough to push hatches earlier on the lower West so that should fish the same. Nymphing or singing wets will be the best bets along with blind casting Isonychias and Cahills in the riffles.
The Beaverkill, Lower East Branch, and Mainstem water temps are still peaking in the mid to high 70’s. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.
