Delaware River Report: July 25, 2023

The aqueduct work has been pushed off again. It is now scheduled for Fall of 2024.

We were hit with a few thunderstorms yesterday afternoon and again last night. There is color in Homepool but it is fishable. The lower West definitely looks good for streamer fishing. The flow at Hale Eddy is 1,400 cfs so wading is tough. The West Branch above Oquaga Creek is still a level 500 cfs and clear. Good for wading and the afternoon sulphurs and olives.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville will peak over 70 degrees today. It’s time to give these sections a break and fish the colder water.

Today will be 81 degrees with light and variable wind. There is a chance of some afternoon thunderstorms nut it is less of a chance than Wunderground called for yesterday.
