Delaware River Report: July 26, 2024

The river flows have dropped down since yesterday and the flow at Hale Eddy is 1,110 cfs. We should continue to slowly drop back to normal as the runoff subsides. There is a tint in Home Pool this morning but not enough to bother the fish. That does open some wade opportunities besides Stilesville. The daytime sulphurs and tiny olives in the upper river sections should be your best bet for dry fly fishing. The mid to lower West will be better for nymphing and maybe some streamers today. Have some Isonychias and cahills along with the sulphurs and olives.

Today will be 79 degrees and sunny. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, the East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and the Mainstem water temps will climb too high in today’s sunshine. It’s time to give these rivers a break.
