Delaware River Report: July 26, 2025

The release from Cannonsville is 549 cfs. Yesterday’s storms were a non factor and the rivers are starting off about where they were yesterday morning. We should get some afternoon cloud cover today but no precipitation until after dark. There are still midday sulphurs and small olives hatching in the coldest river sections. That’s still the best bet for rising fish during the day. There have been some olives on other river sections so keep an eye out for risers if you’re nymphing the lower West. Blind casting Isonychias and Cahills is still paying off on the mid to lower West Branch.

The Beaverkill, Lower East Branch, and Mainstem water temps are still peaking in the mid to high 70’s. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.

Today will be 83 degrees and partly cloudy early and cloudy this afternoon. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.

It’s that time of year. August 15 – 16. Let’s clean up the river!
