Delaware River Report: July 27, 2025

The release from Cannonsville is 549 cfs. We had a few showers overnight but the rainfall total was negligible and the rivers are starting off about the same as yesterday morning. The best bet for hatches is still in the coldest water on the Upper West Branch and Upper East Branch. Sulphurs and olives are making up most of the bugs but there are some Isonychias and Cahills, The algae is making nymphing tough on the Upper West so it’s much better mid to lower West Branch. There have been some olives some days on the lower West as the sun drops.

The Beaverkill, Lower East Branch, and Mainstem water temps are still peaking in the mid to high 70’s. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.

Today will be 82 degrees with a chance of rain showers and thunderstorms. total rainfall should be .14″. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.
