Delaware River Report: July 29, 2024

The river flows have dropped a bit more and the West Branch is in great shape for the end of July. The midday sulphurs and olives are still going on the upper river and the fish have been happy. They have been picky on certain days so if you’re having trouble getting them to eat the sulphurs try something different like an ant, beetle, or tiny olive. Isonychias and Cahills have put some fish in the net in the evening. The mid to lower West has been fishing well with nymphs. We may see a shower this morning but the total rainfall should be negligible.

Today will be 84 degrees with showers in the morning clearing in the afternoon. Wind will be light and variable.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, the East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and the Mainstem water temps will climb too high in today’s sunshine. It’s time to give these rivers a break.
