Delaware River Report: July 3, 2024

Yesterday was a typical sunny summer day. Your best bet is nymphs or wet flies in the morning, looking for the midday dry fly hatches into evening. Once the sun starts to go down, the activity should pick up. Bring an assortment of summer mayflies – sulphurs, Isos, cahills, olives. Add a few caddis for variety and spinners for the late day.

Today will be sunny with a high of 81. Winds 10-15 from the South.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville water temps all peaked at 70 degrees or higher yesterday. It’s still time to give these rivers a break.

Adam found a trout alternative in the dark.
