The showers missed us yesterday but today looks like a better chance. We should have decent cloud cover by the afternoon. The amount of rain in the forecast looks negligible. The midday sulphurs are still going on the upper river sections offering the best shot at dry flies. There are a lot of tiny olives mixed in too. Once the sun drops we should see some olives and Isonychias on the mid to lower West Branch. Nymphing has been better mid to lower too.
Today will be 84 degrees with sun and clouds in the morning. The clouds will increase in the afternoon with a chance of showers. Total rainfall should be .07″. Wind will be 10 – 15 mph from the South.
The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, the East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and the Mainstem water temps will climb too high in today’s sunshine. It’s time to give these rivers a break.
