Delaware River Report: July 5, 2024

We had a little rain overnight that barely bumped the flows. The cloud cover looks good today and should be good for the fishing. Nymphs or wet flies are still the best bets early. Blind casting Isonychias or cahills in the riffles would be a good bet too. There are some daytime sulphurs mixed with olives up close to the dams offering some dry fly shots. The rain in today’s forecast looks negligable but it may push some hatches a little earlier.

Today will be cloudy with a high of 84. Winds light and variable. There may some scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon but Wunderground is showing the total precip as .04″.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville water temps all peaked at 70 degrees or higher yesterday. It’s still time to give these rivers a break.

Leonard had a good afternoon yesterday
