Delaware River Report: July 6, 2024

Noon Update: There is color in the lower West Branch as the runoff passes through. It should begin to clear as the flows drop.

We had some rain overnight and the flow at Hale Eddy is 938 cfs. It is already dropping back. As of 6:30 am it’s clear out front. If that changes we’ll post an update. The flow at Stilesville is still 509 cfs. We had some color in the lower West yesterday and some people did well throwing streamers. There was some dry fly action in the evening. The daytime sulphur hatches are offering some mid day shots closer to the dams. There is algae in Deposit so nymphing is tough on the upper river.

Today will be 86 degrees with sun and clouds mixed. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South. There is a slight chance of a stay afternoon shower.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville water temps all peaked at 70 degrees or higher yesterday. It’s still time to give these rivers a break.
