Delaware River Report: July 7, 2025

The release from Cannonsville has been cut back a bit to 549 cfs. Our power is back on. Look for the coldest water for a shot at dry fly fishing during the day. There have been some sulphurs and a few isonychias in the afternoon. The lower sections of river that are still cold enough to fish may have some bugs in the evening as the sun drops. So we’re in normal July fishing. Blind casting Cahills or Isonychias may pay off along with nymphing or swinging wets. Look for [laces that get shade earlier in the day. We do cool down and we should have more clouds as we come in to the weekend.

The Beaverkill, Lower East Branch, and Mainstem water temps are all peaked in the mid to high 70’s yesterday. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.

Today will be 88 degrees with clouds early turning partly cloudy in the afternoon. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.
