Delaware River Report: July 9, 2024

The release from Cannonsville was increased to 800 cfs again last night. They are saying the 800 cfs will be in effect until further notice. Click on the Stilesville link below for the most up to date information. It’s going to be hot and sunny again much like yesterday. We had a brief rain shower this morning but none of the creeks have bumped so far. The best bet for dry fly fishing will be close to the dams with the afternoon sulphurs, olives, and some Isonychias. There is algae in Deposit so nymphing will be better mid to low West Branch. The lower West should have olives, sulphurs, cahills, and Isonychias as the sun drops.

Today will be 92 degrees with sunshine and a few clouds. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South. There is a slight chance of an afternoon thunderstorm.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls and the East Branch at Fishs Eddy water temps are starting over 70 degrees this morning. The Mainstem at Lordville is already 69 degrees. It’s time to give these rivers a break.
