Delaware River Report: June 17, 2024

We had a few more clouds than expected yesterday but still quite a bit of sun. It’s been fishing the same for a while now with Nymphing and wets being the best bets early in the day and then some afternoon hatches. The cahills and olives we’re finding in the afternoon are enough to get some fish interested but maybe not steady. Patience can pay off. Blind casting Isonychias and cahills with or without a dropper can work well in the riffles. Look for areas that get shade early.

Today will be 86 degrees and partly cloudy. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville will all peak over 70 degrees today. It’s time to give these rivers a break.
