Delaware River Report: June 21, 2024

The release from Cannonsville was pulsed again last night but has leveled out and is beginning to drop at Stilesville. The flow will continue to drop this morning and should level out at 500 cfs this afternoon. Yesterday’s thunderstorms missed us. Wunderground is forecasting afternoon thunderstorms today but they are listing the prcipitation as .08″. They may just slide around us. We should get good cloud cover either way. Tiny olives, light olives, and cahills have been around along with some sulphurs and Isonychias. Nymphing or swinging wets are still the best bets early but we are finding bugs in the afternoon in some pools. Blind casting the Isonychias and cahills in the riffles has brought some fish to the net.

Today will be 86 degrees and partly cloudy with potential thunderstorms in the afternoon. Precipitation should be .08″, Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville all started over 70 degrees again today. It’s time to give these rivers a break.
