Delaware River Report: June 25, 2024

Yesterday’s wind was much, much higher than Wundergound led us to believe. Some areas had brief but heavy bands of rain pass through. The river levels didn’t budge from the precip. The wind did knock out power to a large part of NEPA, including us. We should have power restored sometime before 11 pm tonight. If you do fish today we’re back to where we were two days ago with heat and sun. Nymphing or swinging wets will be your best bets in the morning. The midday sulphurs are starting in deposit offering some dry fly fishing. In the evening we should see the normal mix of light olives, tiny olives, cahills, and some Isonychias.

Today will be 86 degrees with sun. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the WSW.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville water temps all dropped down yesterday. They will climb back up with today’s sunshine and heat. It’s still time to give these rivers a break.
