Delaware River Report: June 28, 2022

The rain stopped early yesterday and the clouds definitely burned off early than we’d hoped. We ended up with another bright and sunny day. So it’s fishing like normal Summer conditions. The bet dry fly action during the day will be in the river sections with the coldest water. Slightly warmer river sections will fish best with nymphs and wets during the day and turn on with dries towards dark and even after dark. Sulphurs, Cahills, and Olives are making up most of the bugs. We are seeing a few yellow sallys and caddis in the afternoon.

The East Branch at Fishs Eddy, The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, and the Mainstem at Lordville all peaked around 70 degrees yesterday. Even with the cooler weather it’s time to give these sections a break until we get cooler temps.
