Delaware River Report: June 5, 2024

We’re still seeing a lot of different bugs on the water. Sulphurs, Cahills, Gray Fox, a few March Browns, a few Green Drakes, blue wing olives, Dark Blue Sedge, and the dark Brachycentrus caddis. Nymphing or swinging wets would be a good bet early. The caddis are still around so a pupa imitation could work well in the riffles. We have found some rising fish early so keep an eye out – especially with the clouds moving in this afternoon. The next few days look good with clouds and rain.

Today will be 80 degrees with mostly sun this morning and clouds and a potential afternoon thunderstorm. Total rainfall during the day should only be .05″. Wind will b 5 – 10 mph from the south.

The Beaverkill at cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville all hit 68 degrees yesterday. Please check the water temps before you fish these rivers.
