Delaware River Report: June 6, 2024

Most of yesterday’s thunderstorms slid around us and the river flows are about the same as yesterday morning. We should have more cloud cover today which could be a bonus. There are still a lot of different bugs on the water making it fun and tough at the same time. Sulphurs, Cahills, Gray Fox, a few March Browns, a few Green Drakes, blue wing olives, Dark Blue Sedge, and the dark Brachycentrus caddis. Swinging caddis pupa has been effective before the hatches. We’ve had some decent spinners towards dark.

Today will be 76 degrees with clouds and a scattered thunderstorms. Total rainfall during the day should only be .18″. Wind will b 5 – 10 mph from the South.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville all hit 70 degrees yesterday. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool off again.
