Delaware River Report: May 23, 2024

There is a planned power outage for our road from 8 am until early afternoon. Our shop will be open as normal.

We had some rain showers overnight that was just enough to knock the dust down. The river flows are starting off about the same as yesterday. The heat had kind of broken with today forecasted to hit 78 degrees. The cloud cover looks great and should help the fishing. We’re still seeing decent caddis on some river sections along with a smattering of March Browns and Gray Fox. The sulphurs have been coming off towards dark. Today has the potential to be a good blue wing olive day.

Both the East Branch at Fishs Eddy and the Mainstem at Lordville hit 70 degrees yesterday. The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls hit 69.8 degrees. The cooler weather and cloud cover should help but check the water temps before fishing these river sections.

Today will be 78 degrees with cloudy skies. We may see .15″ of rain this morning slightly clearing in the afternoon. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.
