Today is looking a lot like yesterday and should fish the same. Nymphs and wet flies will be the best bets early. Blind casing bigger flies like March Browns and Gray Foxes could work well in the riffles. Keep an eye on the riffles for fish eating caddis. There may be a few cornutas hatching early so don’t necessarily write off mid morning for dries. The mayflies should come later in the evening led by the sulphurs and a few cahills.
Again – yesterday 5/24. Both the East Branch at Fishs Eddy and the Mainstem at Lordville peaked at 69 degrees yesterday. The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls hit 67 degrees. The rivers are starting off cooler this morning but please check the water temps before fishing these river sections.
Today will be 82 degrees with sunshine. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.
