Delaware River Report: May 26, 2024

We’re having trouble accessing the USGS flow data but everything looks good this morning. We had a few afternoon storms that seemed to slide North of us. Hopefully the weather report is correct today and we see better cloud cover. Nymphing and wets will still be your best bets early. If it’s sunny again this morning look for places that are shaded longer from the mountains. Anything like that can make a difference. March Browns, Gray Fox, and cahills have been hatching sporadically. There are still some caddis in the riffles. Towards dark we’re seeing the sulphurs.

Again. Both the East Branch at Fishs Eddy and the Mainstem at Lordville peaked at 69 degrees yesterday. The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls hit 67 degrees. The rivers are starting off cooler this morning but please check the water temps before fishing these river sections.

Today will be 82 degrees with sun and clouds mixed. There is a slight chance of an afternoon thunderstorm. Wind will be light and variable.
