If there is any major change in conditions from the storms we’ll post a mid afternoon update
The heat has broken and we should peak at 71 degrees today. Wunderground is calling for .57″ of rain today. A lot of that should soak into the ground as long as it falls over a few hours and not all at once. Today looks like nymphs, wets, and possibly even streamers. There’s always a shot at dries if you can hide from the wind or at least find a protected bank. March Browns, Gray Fox, cahills, sulphurs, olives, and some green drakes have been spotted. The Mainstem and lower East should cool off now opening up more water and more opportunities.
Both the East Branch at Fishs Eddy and the Mainstem at Lordville peaked at 69 degrees again yesterday. The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls hit 67 degrees. The rivers are starting off cooler this morning but please check the water temps before fishing these river sections.
Today will be 71 degrees with clouds in the morning and some potential storms in the afternoon. Total rainfall should be .57″. Wind will be 10 – 20 mph from the South.
